In 2027, Spain will raise social security contributions for high salaries and companies for the third consecutive year. The MEI rate rises from 0.9% in 2026 to 1%, with employers paying 0.83% and workers 0.17%. A higher maximum contribution base and solidarity quota add to the bill, while maximum pensions revalue more slowly, so high earners pay more without equivalent future pension benefits.
